Choir
We have a wonderful choir at TUUC. Our Music Director, Deanna Reitan, wrote this in our 2009 Fall Program: Adult singers of all experience levels are invited to join the TUUC choir for the 2009-2010 season beginning Thursday, September 10th at 7pm - 8:30pm. If you enjoy singing and are willing to try a variety of styles of 3 - 6 part choral music, come to rehearsal September 10th. The first choir appearance during Sunday's services will be the 4th Sunday, September 27th.
The Choir season runs September through mid June. The TUUC Choir performs most every 2nd and 4th Sunday, at the Stewardship Dinner in October and during Christmas Eve candlelight service. Choir Rehearsal meets every Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and 2nd and 4th Performance Sunday rehearsals from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Childcare can be provided by request. Choir for Children and Families
This fall our choir director, Deanna Reitan, will offer an eight-session family choir. Families of all kinds are invited. Parents must participate with children 5 and younger, but older children can be dropped off. Our focus will be simple singing games and playing percussion instruments. We plan to meet Wednesdays from 5:00-5:45 pm starting September 30. We will serve a simple dinner of soup, veggies, and bread from 5:45-6:15 PM. If you’d like to participate, please let us know. Questions? Contact Lori Fernholz-Hartman at dre@tuucwa. org
Heather Urschel-Speir
Heather Urschel-Speir, a member of our congregation and of our choir, sometimes presents a wonderful solo, as she did during the service on Sunday, September 21, 2009, when this photo was taken.
Pianist Mary Anne Lyman

Mary Anne Lyman has been a member of TUUC since 1996. She started out playing hymns occasionally and eventually became our substitute pianist. For the last eight years, Mary Anne has added her musical spirit to our Sunday services as our permanent pianist.

John Hoover
John Hoover, TUUC member, singer and songwriter, donates heartfelt performances monthly at Sunday services. A native Californian, John has written music for and performed for many UU congregations in California and is a sought after music theatre actor/singer. John says of the songs he custom writes for services, "... the songs I have been able to create allows me to explore my spirituality extensively, and that has put me on the path to being a better person."
Helios Trio
Our members and friends include many talented musicians, such as these that form the Helios Trio: Kathy Strickland, piano; Mary Boyum, cello; and Paul Leary, clarinet. During our Sunday Services, they often perform beautiful music for us, often as a trio, and sometimes as individual soloists. Other musicians--sometimes talented young ones--also contribute their music to our services from time to time.
