Home Spirituality Youth Religious Exploration Greetings from Our Religious Exploration Director

Greetings from Our Religious Exploration Director

Welcome to Tahoma Unitarian Universalist Congregation (TUUC) and our Religious Exploration Program (RE Program). Our congregation was established in 1943 and we welcome new friends and families of all kinds.  We hope that your visit is rewarding and that you will join us as often as you are able. Each week's services and activities can be quite different, so we suggest you visit a few times to get a sense of the variety.

I am Lori Fernholz-Hartman, the Director of Religious Exploration. As the director, I coordinate all the children and youth programming our congregation offers, together with our Religious Exploration (RE) Committee and countless volunteers.

While there are many ways to describe Unitarian Universalism, this quote from The Dalai Lama simply expresses our faith:

There is no need for temples, no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple: The philosophy is kindness.

We offer an open, welcoming atmosphere to begin, continue and deepen your religious journey. Our hope is that we can connect with you and your family through our Sunday services and other activities for children, youth and families.

Please feel free to introduce yourself to me and I look forward to meeting you.

Warmly,

Lori Fernholz-Hartman
Director of Religious Exploration
